John Elkins joined Houston Trust Company in 2025. As Vice President of Estate Administration, he is responsible for managing and settling complex estates and terminating trusts. John previously worked as an attorney at a boutique estate planning firm in Houston, focusing on estate and tax planning for wealthy families, fiduciaries, and closely-held businesses.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Estate and Financial Forum.
